About
Today, in retirement I have the best life imaginable for me. I get to enjoy my grandkids, have an active life filled with movement, and work part-time as a qEEG technician and brain health coach for Drs. Ken and Sheila Patterson. When I retired in August 2016, I was sure I had Alzheimer's. My mother had recently passed from Alzheimer's, as had her mother and one of her brothers. I enrolled in the Institute of Functional Medicine health coach certification program to better care for myself. Upon completion, I took the IFM course on the Dale Bredesen protocol for the prevention of Alzheimer's and the reversal of cognitive decline. I had a qEEG done at Restore Wellness Centre during the Bredesen course. The test results did not indicate Alzheimer's; instead, I had ADHD. Several months later, when Dr. Patterson asked if I would be interested in training to become a qEEG technician. I jumped at the opportunity. Wanting to learn more about ADHD, I took advantage of the opportunity to take the Amen Brain Health Professional training program. During the course, I decided to undergo testing at an Amen Clinic. I learned I also had cPTSD. My journey has taught me that "brokenness becomes beautiful when we see trauma as an opportunity to grow." (K.& J. Wolf). My life purpose is to bring that message to all my clients.
