At age 10, I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. At the time, I didn’t quite understand the impact it would have on my quality of life and what it meant if left untreated. I thought it was something that only happened to women in their 40-50’s. I began having symptoms of brain fog, hair loss, constipation, skin discoloration, muscle fatigue, depression and anxiety, etc.A few years after my diagnosis, I reached a pivotal moment in my life when my health was steadily declining, and received news that I didn’t have much longer.I spent many years after that battling seeing different doctors whom I felt didn’t quite understand me and what I was seeking: a root cause approach to address how and why an illness occurs.Growing into my adulthood, I learned I was misdiagnosed and eventually found a functional medicine clinic that helped to run tests where I found out I have an autoimmune disease called Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis, along with leaky gut and food sensitivities that were adding to my inflammation.In 2019, I made a commitment to learn more about holistic health and a couple years later it lead to me becoming a functional medicine health coach.During my journey, I learned optimal health is not the destination but rather a continuous evolving journey. Our past experiences equip us with the ability to show empathy, compassion, and understanding to our fellow humans. More importantly, reflecting these inner qualities and values towards ourselves.My passion and heart is to seek first to understand, and help others uncover their blind spots so that they can reach their goals and uncover their potential for greatness.I love working with clients who are just beginning a new health journey, and with those who are stuck and looking for partnership in areas where they need fresh perspective and support.
