About

My main focus is to help professional, ambitious women from mid-twenties to mid-forties with Hashimoto's who want to get their energy back and clear their brain fog, so they can excel in their careers and personal life. I also help anyone with other autoimmune conditions when my schedule permits. I have five autoimmune conditions including Hashimoto's, Raynaud's, Sjogren's, microscopic colitis, and osteoporosis. That makes me extremely passionate about helping those with similar issues because I know what that type of suffering feels like. I founded Healthy Eating and Life Plans to offer 3-month individual coaching packages and also group coaching packages where we cover everything you need to know about how to practice self care, proper diet and lifestyle factors to give your body the best chance of healing and recovering from autoimmune conditions. I am originally from Virginia, and graduated from Radford University. I spent five years co-managing retirement communities across the country and after being transferred to Tacoma Washington, decided to make that area my home for 15 years. While I was there, I met Jeffrey Bland, PhD who is one of the founders of the Institute of Functional Medicine. He made a lasting impression on me, inspiring me to learn everything I could about functional medicine. He is considered the grandfather of Functional Medicine.  Functional Medicine searches for the root cause rather than medicating and masking symptoms, although that is sometimes necessary. An integrated and holistic approach addressing all aspects of lifestyle including sleep, stress management, movement, and connection to nature, family, friends, and that which is greater is what rejuvenates the body and allows it to heal. Thanks to his work and research, the field of health coaching emerged. After 25 years of self-study, I decided I needed some real credentials to use my knowledge to help people like me get their life back. I became a Certified Health and Life Coach in 2021, and a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach in 2023, and an Autoimmune Paleo Certified Coach in 2025 to have the best education and training to go along with my personal life experience in living with autoimmune issues. Clinical remission is possible when all the conditions are right, just as we get sick when all the conditions are less than optimal. I also became an Amazon best selling author in a collaborative book called Heal To Lead, Volume Three. My chapter is called Everything Happens for a Reason. The book proceeds are donated to support different charities. I am listed in the Marquis Who's Who Directory 2025, and I am actively involved with the Integrative Medicine Initiative in my community. I love to give talks in my community to raise awareness about how we get autoimmune conditions and what we can do about it. In my spare time, I enjoy getting outdoors for nature hikes in all kinds of weather, listening to music, spending time with family and friends and my beloved cat Rocky.
