Rugged Fitness is a progressive strength and conditioning facility committed to providing the knowledge, support and environment needed for our members and clients to meet and exceed their fitness goals. We continually strive to guide, motivate and inspire our people to overcome their perceived obstacles or limitations in order to become the strongest, fittest, healthiest version of themselves that they can.

Training Philosophy

Rugged Fitness is more than a gym. It is a lifestyle of strength, motivation and an enjoyment of physical activity that culminates in achieving optimal health. It has been our experience that people who enjoy their workouts are much more successful achieving their goals. Based on that observation, we have designed our facility and programs to make exercise fun and challenging for individuals of all ability levels

Bio

My passion is for fringe styles of training that incorporate more full body movement patterns. I love to train people to overcome their precieved limitations and reach a new level of fitness. I have worked as a personal trainer and strength coach since 2002. I've developed training programs and nutritional strategies for a wide range of clients in the areas of weight loss, muscle building, increasing sport performance and returning from injuries. I am the Hartford Weight Loss Examiner for the Examiner.com and have written articles on training and nutrition which have also been published in the West Hartford News. I've also given several lectures on these topics, including co-creating a lecture series called Nutrition Nation for the Taking Care Center in downtown hartford.
