Personal Trainer Overview

I believe fitness should be fun and enjoyable! If you hate running, we will never run in a session. If you hate biking, same. My training often includes a blend of weight training, HIITs, and/or boxing! We want to focus on building lean muscle and sculpting the body, with a hint of HIIT cardio in whatever form is most enjoyable for the client!

Training Philosophy

Fitness should be fun! Not a chore! I have a few strong beliefs.

  1. I believe in movement! Moving your body and feeling good will be key in staying motivated. So hiking, spinning, boxing, yoga, tennis, volley ball, dance, whatever it is that you enjoy! Do it! and do it often!

  2. I believe resistance training is the BEST way to achieve long term results! Building lean muscle improves metabolism. A good metabolism means your body will continue to burn calories at a faster rate, even when you're not working out. So imagine, your body is burning calories while you're hanging out at the beach, on a weekend getaway, netflixing on the couch. This is the dream! So resistance/weight training is key to a fast and healthy metabolism!

  3. There are more components that go into finding good results when it comes to your body and health! (all supported by science)

  • Proper sleep
  • Eat better not less
  • Minimize stress. Chronic stress or poorly managed stress may lead to elevated cortisol levels that stimulate your appetite, with the end result being weight gain or difficulty losing unwanted pounds.
  • H2O! Water is KEY! You should be hitting close to a gallon a day HIIT training for cardio. Ideally the bulk of your workouts should be focused on building strength and muscle. However there is a place for cardio. Cardio will increase calorie burn, improve your heart, and even release serotonin...the feel good hormone. However HIIT should ideally only be done when you have been working out for a little while, and when you're stress is managed. HIIT is high intensity interval training. Its a great way to burn a lot of calories in a smaller amount of time!

These are some of my core beliefs. I have more that I can share with you over time while we train and get to know each other! I am looking forward to inspiring and improving my clients lives through effective programs and healthy and manageable lifestyle changes!

Education

I danced most of my life. Ballet, tap, Jazz, modern, hip hop, and salsa. Dance propelled me into group fitness. My first job in the industry was as a Zumba instructor. I went from Zumba to running, and running into weight training which changed my life. I did my first body building/bikini competition in 2013. Which inspired me to get my personal training certification and share what I have learned!

I am certified in PT, group fitness, Boxing training, TRX training, and Circuit Training.
