About
At age 17 Melissa was in a car accident that left her with a severely sprained back, whiplash, and several other issues. Thankfully the chiropractor she went to at the time had a massage therapist on staff who did amazing work. Because of this introduction, Melissa sees and uses massage as a way to heal others and relieve pain. She loves to work with people who have injuries or are struggling with chronic pain, as well as those who are looking for ways to take care of themselves and treat their body right!Melissa pulls from every modality she has trained in to customize each massage to be productive and healing. She pulls most from structual integration, Swedish, Russian sports, trigger point, injury, and Ashiatsu; sometimes adapting Ashi strokes to her hands and sometimes jumping up on the table and using her feet if the client is comfortable with that. Occasionally when the need arises she is also able to add in cranial sacral, prenatal techniques, and shiatsu. She is a mom of 5 and a wife. She loves to travel, try new foods, and learn about cultures, people, history, and places. She is a self declared body nerd and finds it fascinating how all the body systems work together and loves learning more about all the different ways our body communicates with us.
