It was through my pursuit of optimizing my own health is where I discovered a wide range of progressive-thinking practitioners at the Institute of Functional Medicine (IFM). This was a total life-changer for me as I decided to switch careers and pursue my life-long interest of helping others by submerging myself into the field of Coaching in 2017. That's because at the peak of my 25+ year career within the health insurance industry, my own health began to slip.I understood the importance of good health and sought care from various conventional medical doctors — but unfortunately, saw little to no improvement over many years... and was getting worse. I grew exceedingly disenchanted with the current western medicine approach: "a pillfor every ill". Instinctively I knew medication would not fully address my ever-expanding, seemingly unrelated health problems — this would simply mask the underlying issues. I only began to truly heal once I started using the Functional Medicine (FM) approach and fully understood the root cause —Environmental Illness. It is simply astonishing to me that this is one of the mostprevalent issues, and yet, so very poorly understood by most in the conventional medical system.I feel incredibly passionate about the FM approach after seeing the incredible progress made by many, particularly those with chronic health conditions. As an IFM partner and advocate, I will guide and support clients as they makebehavioral and lifestyle changesin order to reach their health goals. My role is to help them recognize and use their own insight, personal strengths, and resources so they may become their best self. I am committed to continually expand my knowledge of "all things" health and wellness and thrilled to be able to support others on their journey to enhance their overall well-being!
