Hello,I am aCertified Functional Medicine Health CoachandNational Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach.My passion is helping men and women discover their best life! I discovered the principles of functional medicine following years of struggling with auto-immune disease and cancer in my own family as I knew there had to be answers beyond what appeared to be our collective genetic destiny. When I witnessed firsthand how removingglutenalleviated many of my family's symptoms, I wondered what else could be contributing to this cascade of diagnoses? I dug deep into the latest science and discovered that illness doesn't fall from the sky. Just because you are born with certain genes, doesn't mean pre-destination as "genes only load the gun, its the environment that pulls the trigger". I discovered 80% of chronic disease is manmade with potential to be reversed with lifestyle change. I learned about food as medicine, the role of toxins, and the importance of gut health and impact of anti-inflammatory lifestyle practices. Seeing profound changes in my own family's health, lit my passion and desire to help others who may be struggling. Becoming a Certified Functional Medicine Health Coach was a natural progression for me to share my vision for hope, optimism and self-empowerment.In my practiceHillary Fox Wellness,I specialize in helping men and women in their 40's-50's experiencing brain fog, bloating, sleep issues and/or joint pain live life with more energy and joy by helping them identify and reduce their "triggers" and learn how to boost their innate energy. Many of my clients come to me following a recentauto-immunediagnosisor a concerning doctor's visit, feeling overwhelmed and depleted. I meet them with compassion and understanding and take a very individualized approach as everyone is different. We explore their unique history, strengths and values and they create a wellness vision that becomes the focus of our work together. We use a detective-like approach to uncover what might be standing in the way of wellness. Grounded in the science of behavioral change and positive psychology, we use the latest evidence-based approaches in functional nutrition, managing stress, and optimizing sleep, movement and connection to help them meet their goals.By the end of the first session, clients usually feel more optimistic, energized and most importantly heard as they begin shifting beyond just surviving, to learning to thrive...usually with some laughter and fun.As a sub-specialty, I've had great success helping college age/young adults overcome sleep challenges.
