I am a wife, mom, a BSN/RN with 20+ years of experience, and a Functional Medicine Certified Health Coach. Over the last 15 years, I have become educated and passionate about "root cause" Functional Medicine as well as the areas of Prevention and Wellness. I’ve watched how lifestyle modifications and better nutrition have positively impacted my family's health in countless ways.Most of us know which healthy habits we need to work on, but actually carrying them out can feel overwhelming and impossible. As a Health Coach and as an RN, I desire to help others take back control of their health with guidance, accountability and empowerment. Knowing where to start can be overwhelming, but I know that making small changes over time can add up and make a powerful impact on both your day-to-day living as well as your future health trajectory. My experience in healthcare has taught me that although chronic diseases seem to be the norm these days, there is hope for healing and wellness.I have personal experience with chronic sinus infections, hormone imbalances, diet changes (including gluten-free and dairy free), eating for athletic performance, how to cook family-friendly healthy meals, balancing healthy living with a busy schedule, strength training, and prioritizing self care while navigating the world of trauma/adoption as an adoptive family. My varied experience as an RN means I am well-versed in various health conditions and chronic diseases and the impact they have on your daily living. Most healthcare practitioners do not have the time to really listen to their patients and address lifestyle modifications at a deeper level to promote true healing and wellness. That’s where I come in!Igraduated with my BSN degree from Hope College (Holland, MI) in 2000. Since then I have worked in the hospital setting as a Med-Surg Nurse, in Homecare, and as an Intake Nurse for a Subacute Rehab facility. I completed my certification to be become a Functional Medicine Certified Health Coach in February 2023.
