About
Change can be hard, but just changing one thing, even if it is small, can build those "change" muscles. Then the next change becomes easier and so on, until you reach your goals. It was serendipity that in 2016, three events collided: My very smart older sister showed signs of dementia, I read Dr. Bredesen’s book “The End of Alzheimers”, and I found out from 23 and Me that I have 2 copies of ApoE4! That started me on a quest for education, so far a BS in Nutrition, completing the FMCA Certified Health Coach program, Dr. Bredesen’s very fine program through Apollo Health, and now just starting the Medicinal Plants certification from Cornell - all online! I’m still learning as a retired person, but this I know - living a healthy lifestyle, eating an abundant, organic plant-based diet, and avoiding as many environmental toxins and infections as possible, gives us our best defense against future chronic diseases, including dementia.
