A few years ago, I faced severe anxiety and depression. My energy was so low that even basic tasks like making the kids' breakfast felt impossible.In 2020, while my husband was battling leukemia for the second time. Add to that, I had a six-month-long, menstrual cycle.We were already in quarantine due to his stem cell transplant. Then the week we got home from the hospital, the world shut down, and we stayed in quarantine with our three kids all 3 and under.Despite numerous doctor visits and hormone prescriptions, nothing helped.After five months of bleeding, a second opinion visit to an OB/GYN ended with her telling me nothing was wrong and suggesting birth control. I came home from that appointment, got on my knees in my living room, and asked the Lord for wisdom. He gave it, and I went back to school to learn functional medicine and holistic health.Through lots of trial and error, I created a comprehensive approach to heal my body from the inside out. I learned how to identify stressors + imbalances, detoxed, balanced my hormones, and developed sustainable, healthy habits. Over time, my anxiety and depression lifted, my energy returned, and my cycles became regular (for the first time in my life) and less painful than I could've imagined(I never knew what a period without horrendous pain felt like).I didn't even know there were holistic solutions to all these health issues until I struggled myself & got to a place of finally taking my health into my own hands.I saw first-hand parts of the medical system that don't serve people with chronic health issues well & I was tired of just being given a prescription for everything. I wanted to know what was actually wrong with my body.This long-long road to health has inspired me to create the Lain Protocol for Optimal Balanced Health so I can help other women.If you're feeling trapped & unsure of what to do, know there is hope and a path to healing.
