Melissa found her love for fitness and wellness at the early age of 14.   While most of her peers were off doing normal teenage activities, you could find Melissa on the basketball court or at the gym training with the local power lifting team.  In school Melissa was a three-sport varsity athlete, often competing at the regional and state level.  When she was not on the court or in the gym Melissa was often working alongside her High School’s Athletic coach, learning the ins and outs of athletic training and sports medicine.Melissa was then accepted into multiple universities but decided to adventure west to Northern Arizona University.  Melissa immediately found a new family when she began competing for the Universities Olympic Weightlifting team.  That is when she met the head Strength and Conditioning coach for the university and began training at the collegiate level.  Melissa poured her energy into school and competing once more.   Upon graduating she acquire her Health Promotions/Education degree.Melissa returned to New Jersey after college and worked for four different hospitals in the Meridian Health Systems company.  She worked as an exercise specialist and personal trainer creating and developing programs for their wellness centers.  Eventually the west would call her back and she returned to Arizona.Melissa accepted a job to open a wellness and rehabilitation center for Kingman Regional Medical Center in 1999 as their Fitness Manager.  She continues to work there today, as a fitness instructor and personal trainer on the side.Melissa returned to school in 2011 and acquired her Associates degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant.  She then joined the Kingman Regional Medical Center’s physical therapy department working the majority of the time in aquatic therapy and the acute therapy setting.If that was not enough in 2019 Melissa decided to continue her education by entering into the Functional Medicine Coaching Academies coaching program.   This was when all the years of studying started to come together to create a picture that finally made sense.   Melissa completed her program in August of 2020.In October 2020 Melissa added one more certification to her resume, Cold Coach by Morozko Forge.  She now combines her coaching with deliberate cold exposure to help her clients breakthrough their limiting beliefs and find a deeper sense of power.Melissa is a huge advocate of continuously educating yourself, while learning and unlearning behaviors that limit your growth or propel you to the best version of yourself every day.Using different tools, mindfulness and character strengths, action steps and goal setting and much more, Melissa holds space for her clients as they embark on a journey of self-discovery, unlimited potential and life changing experiences.
