Dr. Mei has done medical school in China. Her training also includes an internship at Nankai Hospital (the first hospital in China with an integrated program of eastern-western medicine), residency training in pediatric and rehabilitation, Doctoral Degree in Acupuncture from Pacific College of Health and Science, Master’s Degrees in Food Science from University of Arkansas and Public Health from Columbia University. She is also an adjunct faculty in Virginia University of Integrative Medicine, teaching Master’s and Doctoral level courses. She currently holds hospital privileges at St Vincent’s Medical Center, Hartford Healthcare.
She has worked in the Radiation Oncology and Anesthesiology Departments of Columbia University Presbyterian Hospital and contributed to research in neuro-anesthesia and oncology. She has also studied under renowned clinicians in disease pattern differentiation and unique acupuncture treatments, including Painless Needling, Distal Dynamic Needling.
She is a licensed acupuncturist in the states of New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Connecticut. She is a former athlete who knows the body inside out. It was when she playing sports at young age that she discovered the therapeutic effects of oriental medicine and found herself being of therapeutic significance to her patients.
