About

Hello. You can call me "Peggy". One could say that I am one of the elite in my field achieving and maintaining the highest certification available, the Board Certification through the National Certification Board of Massage Therapy (NCBTMB). I frequent regular seminars and workshops, always looking for ways to improve my techniques and skills. Although I happily help a wide variety of clients ranging from individuals looking for relaxation to those working to overcome serious injuries, I specialize in deep tissue, MFR, and medical massage work. I also am experienced in helping those suffering from Fibromyalgia. I enjoy doing MFR work that I learned studying with John F. Barnes. It was a pleasure to meet him at his practice in PA and his seminars. Please visit my website to see all the services I offer in my practice. I decided to study massage beginning 2009 when I saw firsthand how much it heals people; it was the only type of treatment that worked for my pain after a horseback riding accident and enduring Fibromyalgia. After my own experience, I realized how much I could help people by offering this type of healing to the community. I graduated with a degree in Massage Therapy & Bodyworks from Virginia School of Massage in Charlottesville, VA and am licensed by the Virginia Board of Health to work as a Certified Massage Therapist and Bodyworker. First, I earned my National Certification and shortly thereafter earned the Board Certification by passing the Board Certification exam, completing 768 hours of education, completing 250 hours of professional hands-on experience, passing a thorough national background check, maintaining a current CPR certification, and agreeing to uphold NCBTMB’s Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics. Becoming Board Certified is the highest voluntary credential attainable to massage therapists and body workers in the profession today. Board Certification demonstrates a much higher level of achievement beyond entry level licensure. For this reason, I decided to become Board Certified and it is more than just another credential—it’s a commitment to raising the standards of the esteemed profession. My goal is, was, and always will be to continue elevating the standards of practice of my profession and, ultimately, to positively impact society. In addition to running my own massage practice, I have three beautiful, successful adult children, own and maintain a small horse farm, donate time to mission work and SFC Virginia, (a foster-focused animal rescue group), and RRMRC (volunteer health workers) for the betterment of my community. I'm also an enthusiastic Certified Laughter Yoga Leader. My business goal is to help improve the wellbeing of my clients, one client at a time and I enjoy witnessing their improvement after each treatment. In my spare time, I enjoy learning about ways to improve health through diet, exercise and relaxation and share new information with my clients. I also enjoy horseback riding, gardening, beach walking, hiking, swimming, cycling, mission work, laughter yoga, sightseeing and spending time with my family. Fun fact about me, I'm a licensed private pilot and enjoy flying whenever possible (but that's another story about me for another time).
