Tara Gustin

I am a licensed massage therapist and owner of Rushmore Athletic Massage.

I have spent my entire life involved in and surrounded by sports and athletic competition. It is my passion.

I experienced my first low back injury at the age of 17 while performing a heavy squat. I quit lifting heavy for several years to prevent another injury. I discovered Crossfit in 2013 right after my daughter was born and I was completely hooked. Unfortunately, after just a few months of Crossfit, I injured my back again…and then again.

Determined to continue doing what I love while preventing further injuries, I immersed myself in the study of mobility work and self-massage. I learned the right combination of proper warm-ups, proper movement, and massage, and proceeded to exercise without any major injuries. I decided soon thereafter I wanted to help other athletes as well.

After becoming a licensed massage therapist in 2018, I began studying sports massage therapy and completed the level 1 Crossfit coaching certification. I now specialize in pain relief and injury prevention for athletes.

I continually participate in advanced education classes to learn new techniques for my clients. Some of these techniques include deep tissue, trigger point therapy, hip and low back pain, cupping therapy and stretching techniques. In addition, I am currently working on my certification for Movement and Mobility taught by Physical Therapist Kelly Starrett.

I strive to give my clients an experience that is above and beyond that which is found in a spa environment. I focus specifically on areas such as low back/hips, shoulders and neck. My commitment is to my clients, their goals, and helping them achieve their desired results. I help my clients progress into strong, healthy, PAIN FREE warriors. I look forward to connecting with you!
