About
Shakira began her wellness journey during her undergraduate career. After receiving a B.A. Psychology, she attended Body Therapy Institute and became a licensed massage and bodywork therapist in 2012. Her bodywork focuses on rhythmic waves, guiding people back to themselves. She brings a deep understanding of the body’s wisdom to her work through yoga, humor, and soul-deep storytelling to help people release what is heavy and create movement, both physically and emotionally, into a truer way of living.Shakira hosts Anatomy of the Heart, an embodiment practice to support massage therapists and yoga instructors in working with folks who have heart disease. She loves the magic of music and its influence of watery dances through the body, and shares a story of self preservation through compassion, self love and a commitment to embracing transformation. Her massage clients describe her work as healing, relaxing and intuitive.
