About
I came to massage therapy after years of accompanying people in their emotional and spiritual experiences. Now I address these – plus muscle aches – via massage. Ahhh.I am especially interested in working with people who have experienced loss and/or trauma (which, let's be real, is most of us). Safe places to truly relax and let go are essential to become the person we want to be. The techniques I offer include Swedish/relaxation, trigger point/deep tissue, and reflexology. My massage is trauma-informed. After a thorough intake, I pay attention to your body’s reactions to the massage touch, and check in to make sure you feel safe and in control. For folks with trauma histories, my website has more information about my trauma-informed approach. (www.lasmariposasmassage.net)Butterflies/Mariposas have life changes that are easy for us to see. I believe massage can help us move more gracefully to our own next chapters. The photo here is of a Karner Blue Butterfly, an endangered Michigan butterfly. Half of my tips support the Michigan Butterfly Network. (https://naturecenter.org/michiganbutterfly/)My training includes an M.S. in Counseling from Loyola Baltimore, an M. Div. from Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary, a certificate in Spiritual Direction from the Vincentian Institute, and a certificate in Massage Therapy from Columbus State Community College.Y hablo espanol!
