Melanie Metzger

I am both a Registered Nurse and Licensed Massage Therapist. I own my own practice in Salisbury, MD called Hesed Wellness Salisbury. I graduated from nursing school in 2008 and have worked in a variety of settings including acute care hospitals, chronic hospital, home health, hospice, developmental disabilities, pediatrics, physician office, camps and 3rd world communities. When I lived in a 3rd world community, people came to me about their loved ones who were dying of cancer. There was no Hospice or morphine so I made massage oil with essential oils based on their therapeutic values. I taught the families basic effleurage which I had learned in nursing school. The families reported their loved ones experienced decreased pain and better rest. Whenever I rubbed a patient's back, I noticed them calm down and their breathing slow. Between this and my own experiences with massage therapy I decided to return to school and graduated with an Associate's Degree in Massage Therapy from Anne Arundel Community College in 2023. My focus is on the body and somatic complaints. I have taken multiple CEU's in the mind body relationship and the effects of trauma on the body and brain. I provide Swedish, Integrated, Deep, Myofascial and Comfort Touch Therapies. I am very involved in the developmental disabilities community.
