Several years ago, I decided to make some major changes in regards to both my own health and the health of my family. More exercise, a better diet, the typical alterations. But it was at this time that I began to think more and more seriously about an interest I had developed a decade earlier: therapeutic massage. Since I was already making some big life changes, I figured it was the right time for a career change as well. But the decision to study therapeutic massage is more than just a career change, it’s a mindset change. This allows me to give back and make a positive impact in the lives of each client I encounter.I studied Massage Therapy at Illinois Central College, where I clocked 832 classroom and clinical hours before receiving my Therapeutic Massage Certification (the State of Illinois requires a minimum of 500 hours). I then passed the Massage and Bodywork Licensing Examination (MBLEx) and became a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) by the State of Illinois. I since then have become certified in trigger point therapy by The Institute for Integrative Healthcare Studies. I am also a proud member of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA).My intention is to help each of my clients achieve their specific goals of health, relaxation, and well-being, so each session is tailored specifically to their individual needs. I believe this type of approach, rather than a general form of therapy for everyone, allows me to ascertain the most effective method of help that I can provide.
