About
In another life I was a famous dancer. OK, not so famous, but it was while touring throughout the world as a professional dancer that I first experienced the therapeutic benefits of massage. Always interested in movement, the body, and its inner workings, becoming a massage therapist felt like a natural progression. After graduating from the National Holistic Institute College of Massage, in Emeryville CA in 2001, I attained the highest credential in the massage profession, the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage. After running a successful private massage practice for over six years, I expanded to work for high-end spas such as Remède, Spa Vitale in San Francisco and Cavallo Healing Arts Center in Sausalito. In 2012 I returned to the National Holistic Institute College of Massage and joined their team of excellent teachers in order to share my passion of massage. As a teacher and mentor for seven years I taught both Western and Eastern massage modalities. In the Western segment I taught Swedish, Deep Tissue, Sports, Myofascial Therapy, and Pregnancy. In the Eastern segment I taught Shiatsu, Acupressure, Reflexology and Energy work. In addition to teaching various bodywork classes, I also instructed students in the science classes, including Anatomy, Kinesiology and Pathologies. I bring 20 years of experience as a teacher, mentor and professional massage therapist into each session. As a client once said to me, "Kelly, you have the best career in the world. People are happy to see you and even happier when they leave."
