About
Marymar Boyer is a licensed massage therapist who was born and raised in Tucson. The foundation of her practice is based on providing healing touch and client-centered care that addresses each person as an individual. For the past six years, she has studied the different ways in which we can heal our body, mind, and spirit. She gives us the gift of compassion, understanding, and awareness. Her gentle nature puts you at ease and her smile comes from a deep and caring place. Hardly will Marymar engage in small talk--- she would rather discuss dreams, aspirations, art, history, books, and favorite hiking spots. Working overnights and long shifts, she had to find ways in which she could support her mental and physical health. Self-massage and trigger point therapy were subjects she began to study on her own for her and her co-workers' sake. She tried to equip herself with useful tools and information, as well as encourage others to do the same. She realized that when she took care of her body, her mind was at ease and able to engage in the things she was most interested in. That is when her interest in nutrition and the ancient healing arts really began to grow. It was until she traveled to the Hudson Valley that she could really begin to understand our inherent relationship with nature. Living in the middle of the forest, surrounded by beauty, was a revitalizing experience. As a desert native, waking up in a green place everyday was completely new and invigorating. She was planned to study massage therapy in New York but realized that there was a great school waiting for her back at home, and so was her growing family. She realized that what she had so far seen of life on this planet could be very harsh and demanding in our current cultural setting. Marymar wanted to know what she could do to help people who were struggling to find peace and happiness in their lives. There is much to understand, several lifetime's worth of knowledge and experience, and a solution is going to look different for each person. So, she started with a simple approach to wellness. Positive human touch that comes from a place of acceptance of one's place in the universe, and attuning to nature and simplicity to reach a state of balance. Marymar believes there is a endless sea of art and science that can help each and every one of us if we allow ourselves to flow with it. Oftentimes, we are fighting against the tides of economic, mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual difficulties. To be able to ask a person you trust for help in overcoming those difficulties is one of the life-changing aspects of therapy and bodywork.
