Kate Tremblay

I work primarily in the modalities of Thai massage, Swedish/Deep Tissue, and CranioSacral therapy. My work centers around helping clients experience their body as a source of refuge, friendship and profoundly rich inner wisdom. This doesn’t happen in a single session. It’s a journey that generally starts with some sort of discomfort. When a client comes to me in pain, or struggling in some way, I bring all my 28 years of study and experience to helping address this discomfort. Sometimes it can be quickly resolved, and if that’s the case, I’m certainly going to help make it so. Often though, within discomfort there is a hidden invitation to a deeper kind of healing.  When a client expresses an interest in listening to the wisdom of the body, I combine my work as a Massage Therapist with my training and experience as a Certified Focusing Professional and Spiritual Director to help this client sense what the body knows that is not yet available to the intellect. Together we bring warmth, respect and gentle curiosity — qualities of Presence — to the body’s felt sense, and enter into relationship with it. When we stop pushing something away, and relate to it with curiosity and respect, both we and our discomfort are changed by that experience, in profoundly meaningful ways. This is my definition of healing, and the focus of my practice of massage.
