I started Grater Health after I learned how to heal myself through food. A chronic eczema and life long allergy sufferer, a few changes to my diet and education around gut health ended the need for allergy medications and steroid creams I'd taken for years.But my journey to successfully changing my diet wasn't easy, and my tenuous relationship with food was never really addresssed. Even after healing my skin, my mind was always pre-occupied with thoughts of sugar and spice and everything nice. It never occurred to me to think of myself as a disordered eater, until nearly a decade after I first attempted an elimination diet that ended in a binge eating episode.I know how well food works as medicine, and I want to help people see that too. But in order to get to that step, I want people to know that our thoughts around why we eat lay the foundation for improving upon what we eat. I don't want it to take my clients 15 years to successfully find a diet that helps them feel their best. Looking at both our emotional attachments to eating, and the nutritional healing powers of what we choose to eat are the sweet spot I hope to help clients identify for themselves, so that they can feel less failure, more empowerment.
