About
My first experience with autoimmune illness was as a young child. My great-grandmother, who we called Noni, had severe rheumatoid arthritis. Her joints were disfigured and it was hard to look away from her thumbs which bent backwards to her wrists. Noni only spoke Italian, so it wasn't possible for us kids to get to know her. According to my mother she was stoic, but there was no way to hide the physical and emotional pain of her illness. Even as a child, I felt helpless in the face of Noni's arthritis. When I learned I could be trained as an AIP Coach, I didn't hesitate to join this amazing community of people seeking wellness in the midst of autoimmune illness. You don't have to walk this journey alone. While my knowledge of nutrition will surely come in handy, you are the chief navigator on your healing journey. That may sound scary at first, but as things improve, it will hopefully feel empowering. I would be honored to join your team and help you find your way! In Health, Sharon K Barrett MS, LDN, Certified AIP Coach
